I’ve often dreamed about how fun it would be to work at a nail polish company, and OPI’s new Fiji-inspired collection is really adding to the envy. Imagine spending your 9 to 5 translating pristine ocean waters and lush exotic flowers into perfect paint hues. If I had to, I’d even be willing to go on an inspiration trip to the South Pacific islands if required (wink, wink).
The 12-shade lineup is inspired by Fiji’s stunning landscapes, and is available across the brand’s traditional Nail Lacquer, in-salon GelColor and at-home gel-effect Infinite Shine ranges, so that you can indulge in the beachy hues no matter your preferred formula. Here, we’re showing you the Infinite Shine range (our fav)!
Another perk to working in the polish biz? Coming up with the cheeky shade names. Here are the 12 shades (you can probably tell which ones made me LOL) in the collection:
- Coconuts Over OPI: sandy taupe
- I Can Never Hut Up: shimmery grey-ish green
- Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon: pastel pink
- Suzi Without a Paddle: tranquil blue
- Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet: bright yellow
- Polly Want a Lacquer?: lavender
- Two-timing the Zones: vibrant pink
- No Tan Lines: hot orange
- Living On the Bula-vard!: punchy red
- Is That a Spear in Your Pocket?: tropical teal
- Super Trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic: primary blue
- Do You Sea What I Sea?: shimmery cobalt blue
The collection is made up of crème finishes mostly, with the exception of the shimmery Do You Sea What I Sea? and I Can Never Hut Up (which has a very fine pearl finish that looks amazing with the modern grey shade).
I love the mix of electric brights (yellow is always hard to ace, but Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet has just the right hint of orange to make it flattering) and punchy pastels (though Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon, Polly Want a Lacquer? and Suzi Without a Paddle all have softer tones, they’re still quite vivid).
Plus, there’s the subdued sandy Coconuts Over OPI if bold hues aren’t your jam—though, this stunning collection could likely sway even the most colour-averse. This collection has something for everyone and is the perfect way to jump right into sandal season with on-trend tips and toes.
