The Curing Cure: OPI Introduces Infinite Shine Gel Effect Lacquer System

We all love the look and wear of gel polish, but hate the whole give-me-an-hour-I-have-to-take-off-my-nail-polish aspect of it. Well, thank goodness for technology, because we’re getting pretty close to giving up the UV/LED lamps for good.

OPI has become a cult favourite brand between their long-lasting formula, huge selection of colours and their cute (we-wish-we-could-be-in-the-boardroom-during-brainstorming) names. Now they are stepping up their game with the release of their new Infinite Shine Gel Effects Lacquer System.

Think long-wear polish taken to the next level with a high gloss shine and coverage that lasts for up to 10 days. With 30 new shades (check ’em all out here), including an array of rouges, neutrals and some fun colourful options, this three-step system is the new must-have for those perpetually chained to their keyboards and don’t have the patience or time to paint their nails every other day.

While we’ve applauded two-step systems in the past, this extra step isn’t deterring us from trying this long-wear polish. In fact, we’re happy to take a little extra time to ensure our mani truly lasts the full 10 days—and this system sure does deliver. Infinite Shine is comparable to a few other UV/LED-free gel-effect ranges like Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and CND Vinylux—both of which we love as well (come on, a girl’s gotta have options)!

The Primer base coat prevents staining on your nails (key for some of those dark and moody fall-winter polish shades) and helps extend the polish, while the Gloss top coat locks in the colour with its gel polymer formula that cures in natural light, nixing the need for any UV or LED lamps or the big soak-off mess. What you’re left with is a high-shine (seriously, it almost looks wet) finish that will last through your meetings, coffee jaunts and post-work affairs, so when you swap your polish, it’s more likely you just want a change in colour.

Want to see it in action? We found this awesome video tutorial to show you exactly how to use the system. The Lacquers (including Primer and Gloss) all retail for $12.50 each and available now at professional salons across the country.
