I’ll be the first to admit that I’m totally addicted to eyelash enhancers. I’ve tried many (some better than others), but I’m always trying to nourish and enhance my lashes in hopes to make them longer, thicker and stronger. This new drugstore addition, the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Felt-Tip Eyeliner + Serum ($10.95 USD / $14.79 CDN), shown here in shade Deep Brown, is meant to double your efficiency by providing an eyeliner and serum together- let’s check it out.
The lash enhancer comes in a thick, jumbo-sharpie sized pen with an large felt-tip applicator. The applicator almost reminds me of the jumbo MAC felt-tip eyeliner from the Wonderwoman collection… basically, too big to be functional, and this one is no different. Unfortunately, the tip contributes to one of the reasons why I just didn’t have a good experience with this product.
The product itself is a great concept- one that i’ve seen before in products like the Buxom Lashliner (a gel eyeliner with lash-boosting benefits) which I actually liked, but this one was different in the formula. A felt-tip liner can be a wonderful product, but because of the thin liquidy formula I feel like a super precise tip is needed. The felt-tip on this product was just too large, there was no way to actually make it look natural or subtle…it’s really like a felt tip marker instead of pen. That combined with the sheer liquid formula, the eyeliner really just appeared like I had put on eyeliner in the morning which smudged and melted away throughout the day (only it was freshly applied). Unfortunately, while the concept is fantastic, it just didn’t provide a clean and precise enough look for me.
- Price: $10.95 USD / $14.79 CDN for 0.09oz / 2.5g
- Availability: Drugstores
- Selection: Available in four shades; Smoky Grey, Ultra Black, Black and Deep Brown (shown here).
- Overall: A nice concept to combine eyeliner and eyelash enhancing serum into one product, however the sheer liquid color combined with the oversized felt-tip applicator made it too thick and washed out to define nicely.
