We recently sat down with Essie Canada’s lead nail artist, Rita Remark, for a photoshoot (did you love this nail design as much as we did?) and were impressed with Rita’s attention to detail. While practice has obviously made perfect in Rita’s case, as she’s been in the nail game for a while to reach that coveted expert status, she had a great tip with us to share for anyone whose handy work isn’t exactly camera-ready at first swipe of the polish brush.
After you’re done your full polish application, try tidying up any errant brushstrokes around your cuticles with the help of nail polish remover and a eyeliner brush. Dip the brush in the polish remover, dab off the excess on a paper towel and then go to town, tracing your nails with the brush to remove excess polish and really perfect the edges of your nails. If you can’t get your hands on a professional nail brush like Rita uses, she recommends trying an angled eyeliner brush for ease and precision. While it’s an extra step in your DIY manicure, the results are that much more professional-looking!Check out our picks for brushes and nail polish removers below that would work brilliantly for this quick tip! shop this story
