3 Tips For Curling Pin-Straight Eyelashes

I was “blessed” with super pin-straight hair (according to my friends) but with it, I was also “blessed” (*coughSARCASMcough*) with pin-straight eyelashes.  I’ve definitely mastered the way to keep them perfectly curled all day, but unfortunately it takes a bit more work.

  1. Heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer for about 5-10 seconds before curling your lashes (just warm, not hot! Be careful!) This will help to give that really nice curl (think of a curling iron but for your eyelashes)! I recommend the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($19 USD) for the perfect curl!
  2. Apply waterproof mascara. Unfortunately there’s no way around this one.  Regular mascaras contain water, which causes eyelashes to resume their natural state (aka. FLAT) so you’ve gotta go with waterproof mascara. My number one favorite waterproof mascara is mark. lash splash hook-up mascara in black ($6 USD / $7 CDN).
  3. Use the proper eye makeup remover- an oil-based micellar cleansing solution or a dual-phase eye makeup remove (the kind you have to shake). This will make it SO much easier to remove stubborn waterproof mascara without irritating your eyes.  I’ve gone through countless bottles of MAC Gently Off Eye & Lip Makeup Remover ($19 USD / $23 CDN) to get the job done!
