Quick Tip When Wearing Pink-Based Eyeshadow

Pink-based eyeshadows can be incredibly intimidating, even purple eyeshadows can sometimes make you look like you have a bruise!  Many times i’ve worn pink eyeshadow just to think I looked like I had an eye infection of sorts- not pretty!  One tip I learned from the marvellous Bobbi Brown is that you can wear these types of eyeshadows (pink, red, orange, purple, etc) in a soft and subtle way by making sure that you don’t skip the eyeliner!  Make it pretty thick too (and complete from inner corner to outer corner)- a clearly defined black eyeliner helps to separate the whites of your eyes from the color on the lids, making them look very distinguishable.

So if you’re planning on wearing any pink or purple eyeshadows in celebration of Valentine’s day coming up (less than a month away now!) make sure to keep this tip in mind!

    Very good tip! I actually just tried wearing pink eyeshadow the other day with a cranberry crease color! So pretty, but definitely couldn’t skip the eyeliner!

    Can’t disagree with that :) Good tip! It took me a while but I did eventually learn how to use more ‘difficult’ colors. Although there are still many make up challenges still waiting for me in my very own make-up drawer ;)

    Yeah I have problems with my eyes looking infected when I wear pink e/s. lol I do love the pink/choc look and lots of liner is needed.

    This tip is so true. I have always been leery about red-violet eye shadow shades because it is the perfect color of rosacea, which I have. But I had found that if I used black eye liner, it’s fine to wear.

    Sometimes, I’ll wet a liner brush and run it through my pink shadow to just create a little pop of color on the lids by using it as a liner. Of course, I always tightline as well otherwise it just looks funny.
