Quick Tips for Long-Lasting Eyeliner Looks

I seriously can’t get enough of Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($21 USD) because it really is quite universal! Here’s a few different “looks” you can achieve from one single product.

  • Liquid Eyeliner Look - Use a thin, angled eyeliner brush (my favorite is the Bdellium Tools 760T Brush, $7 USD) to apply a smooth line from inner corner to outer corner, making it thicker at the outer corner and flicking it out to create a cat-eye.  Gel eyeliner gives you the look of liquid with the precision of a pencil.
  • Smudged Pencil Eyeliner Look - Use a precise eyeliner brush (like the Sigma E05, $9 USD) and apply the gel liner to the very base of the lash line, going 2/3 of the way towards the inner corner. Next, use a smudger brush (like the Sigma E30, $9 USD) to quickly smudge it out and soften the eyeliner.  You can also smudge some eyeshadow on top if you weren’t quick enough!
  • Eyeshadow Pencil Eyeliner Look - This is the softest look possible, use a flat smudger brush (like the Sigma E55, $9 USD) to push the liner into the lash line, as close to the lashes as possible.  This dense brush will give you a soft application that looks like eyeshadow, but lasts a lot longer!

Always set your eyeliner with a matching shadow. You can also put a primer underneath the liner =)

Line with pencil first then gel or cream liner!

The E05 looks so thick for liner, but incontrast to thiner brushes I have, this one gives me the best precise thin line. I’m horrible at eye liner but this one makes it easy even for me.

This is my favoite gel liner by far. And great tips! I have a hard time with the wing liner part… The outer 2/3s of my eye is terribly slanted and it just doesn’t work for me.

I use that exact eyeliner when I want a winged eyeliner look, otherwise I use my MAC liquidlast liner because that baby won’t budge at all.

I picked up a great bent eyeliner brush from Coastal Scents during the black friday sale. It’s great!! I picked up some other brushes too, but I love my bent eyeliners. :)
