The Sephora Moonshadow Palette ($30 USD / $36 CAD) in In The Night is the latest baked mineral eyeshadow palette from Sephora, designed for the holiday season. The palette includes ten baked eyeshadows that can be used wet or dry in a variety of sultry smoky shades as well as bright pops of festive color. This limited-edition palette is now available at Sephora.
The case resembles the Deco Daze brush set case that I’ve fallen in love with, with a black and gold geometric design. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful compact designs in the Moonshadow line. I’ve already raved a lot about these Sephora Moonshadow palettes, proclaiming them to be one of Sephora’s best products from their in-house line.
This palette is absolutely incredible… except for one shade. I don’t understand why it is so sheer (Sephora even advertises the palette as containing sheer shades…I don’t know why) but it just completely lacked pigmentation. It’s the last shade in the palette, and while it does provide some sparkle, it seems so out of place and such a disappointment in comparison to the other beautifully pigmented, rich hues.
I love how each shade can be used dry for a sheer wash of color, or wet for an opaque finish. There’s even a matte black in the shade which is pretty good- it comes of as more of a charcoal black… but still incredibly rich and pigmented on its own.
If you can stand the fact one of the shades is a bummer- I think you’ll really enjoy the other 9 shades. From gorgeous smoky greys to warm golds and metallic bronzes along with a few pops of vibrant colour, this palette is the perfect compliment for the holiday season.

- Overall: Another stunning palette from the Sephora Moonshadow line for all colors except the last one- it’s quite disappointing, but the value of the entire palette is still phenomenal regardless because all of the wet/dry shades are just so fantastic. I love the range of shades as well as the inclusion of a matte black in this palette.
