The new Sephora Tattoo Me! ($8 USD / $10 CAD) may not really be ‘makeup’ but it’s kind of cool- so I wanted to test it out because I think some of you might have fun with it! This new temporary tattoo pen comes in three different shapes, including an Anchor, a Skull and this one- a Star. The tube looks like an extra large eyeliner pen, but the tip is a stamp instead that applies the long-wearing temporary tattoo formula.
The product is really like a watered down liquid eyeliner- a long-lasting formula that comes off with an oil-based makeup remover. So really, your tattoo isn’t going to last several days, but it’s definitely going to hold up for the night. It also takes a little getting used to- if you press too hard, you’ll get a halo from the base of the stamp, and if you don’t press hard enough, your tattoo will be patchy. I found that if you press lightly and give it a little wiggle (not actually moving the stamp around) it helps the product to flow through better and transfer evenly.
When would you use this? For a party, for a costume or really for no reason! They can be placed anywhere you want- face or body. I would have loved to see these pens come with a stamp side and a pen side, so you can draw on your own tattoos with the same formula (they might be a little more useful then)!
