The final items I have to talk about from the Shu Uemura Chocolat-Donna Collection for Fall 2012 are these two, stunning nail colors. These limited edition Shu Uemura Fall 2012 Nail Polishes ($20 CAD each) are both inspired by rich, sweet desserts.
This is my first time trying Shu Uemura nail polishes, and I must say I’m impressed. I found the formula to be quite thick, yet pigmented (two coats worked perfectly)! Dark Chocolate literally looks like melted chocolate… just like this whole collection, I really wanted to eat it. This rich, chocolate brown is a beautiful color for fall. Icing Glitter is a beautiful ultra-fine sliver and golden glitter polish, which can be worn on its own or layered on top of another shade to add a hint of sparkle.
I got 4-5 days of wear out of these polishes (with a base and top coat, of course), which I think is pretty good. The bottles are a little awkward to handle and they don’t stack very nicely with the others… but overall I think they are an awesome formulation.
The brush was easy to use, and I definitely think the formula measures up to other high end nail lacquers (although I’m not entirely convinced that high-end polishes are that much better than some top players in drugstores)
