The shu uemura Blossom Dream Collection for Spring 2013 includes two shu uemura Gloss Unlimited Lipglosses ($23 USD / $32 CAD), of which I have one of the limited-edition “Artist” shades in AT20G. The colorful array for pastel floral shades and varying textures of this collection was inspired by budding flowers and features a modern interpretation of the legendary “unmask” logo to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the brand. The collection is available now at shu uemura retailers.
The gloss comes in a simplistic tube with a tear-shape doe-foot applicator with a hole in the middle (we’ve seen this type of applicator in the past from some brands including L’Oreal Paris)- the hole grabs a little extra product while the tapered shape gives more precision and control for the application. I really love this type of applicator.
AT20G (I wish the names were a little… prettier) is a super sparkly yellow gold gloss. The base is primarily translucent with just the tiniest hint of gold, and even though it’s packed with shimmer, it still feels super smooth on the lips (no gritty texture here)! It doesn’t have a noticeable scent, and even though the texture is smooth and not tacky, it still has enough ‘substance’ to stay on the lips for a few hours. It’s one of those glosses that really is the best of both worlds- comfort and longevity.
While it is pretty on its own, I feel like this gloss is best suited for adding a little sparkle to another lip color. It’s truly beautiful and one of the best glosses I’ve found from shu uemura!
