The Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld Collection for Holiday 2012 includes one Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld Eyelash Curler ($24 USD / $24 CAD), which is essentially the same iconic Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, with an added Mon Shu girl keychain and red curling pad. This collection features color selection and package design created entirely by Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director for the legendary fashion house of Chanel. The collection is available for purchase this month online, and in stores November 2012.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Shu Uemura’s iconic eyelash curler. Sworn holy grail material by countless beauty editors and makeup artists alike, this eyelash curler really has the most universal shape I’ve found (that is not to say though that it is the best for everyone). Some eyelash curlers can be too curved or too straight, but this one has a happy medium, making it a great tool for everyone.

You may, however, find that a more curved or straight eyelash curler is better for you.  I know for a fact that I prefer a more curved curler for my eye shape, even though this one works great.  It’s basically a fool-proof tool for those that aren’t sure of what’s best for them… making it a star piece for makeup artists! It has a gentle, yet effective, curling action allowing for a smooth curl from base to tip without any pinching.

There’s nothing special about this curler in the actual use of it…you’re really paying an extra $4 for the Mon Shu keychain (which I have to admit, I’d be perfectly fine with).  The price hike is the same that you’d pay for the limited-edition 24K gold edition. It’s a nice keepsake from the legendary collection, so if you’re in the market for a new curler… check this one out!
