When I was in LA for IMATS, I was invited to attend the Sigma VIP Launch Party for their latest product, the Sigma Beauty Brow Design Kit ($69 USD), which will be available on July 23 (I have a few photos of the event here). This 15-piece collections contains everything you could ever possibly need to shape, groom and fill in your brows.
Sigma Beauty, made famous for their high quality (yet affordable) makeup brushes, have been diving more into the makeup world lately, and I have to say- this is one of my favorite products they have made to date. While the packaging is a little large and cumbersome for traveling, you can simply take the brow gel & pencils to last you the weekend if need be.
I must admit, I don’t give my eyebrows the TLC they deserve- I was blessed with pretty full brows that rarely need touching up (besides tweezing), so I haven’t had to pay much attention to them. After using this kit though, it really has shown me how important it is to take care of your brows… from trimming, to shaping, to maintaining, it’s all important.
This kit contains a lot of stuff, so I’ll go through it one by one. The tools are mainly located in the top lid and they include a pair of scissors (for trimming long hairs), tweezers (for removing stray hairs), a mirror and three brow stencils (these can be used to help shape your brows just the way you want it). The stencils range from small to large, but the overall shape of the arch remains the same.
In the palette itself you’ll find a few double-ended products (I guess Sigma likes multi-tasking!); a double-ended highlighter with a creamy, matte light pink shade on one end and a shimmery gold on the other, a double-ended hard brow pencil with both a medium and a dark shade, as well as a double-ended brow gel (with one side tinted a warm, medium brown and the other just clear). I love how creamy and smooth the highlighter pencils are, but even though the brow pencils are a hard pencil, I would have liked to see them a bit skinner (you really have to sharpen them between each use to maintain precision).
You’ll also find a pencil sharpener and five different brow powders, varying in tone and shade, as well as a double-ended brush with an angled brush on one side (the E75) and a spoolie (E80) on the other. Naturally, you would think that the brow powders are a waste, because you simply find the one that matches you and the rest aren’t useful… but that’s not the case. Simone (the owner of Sigma) was telling me that she designed this kit with the idea in mind that you could choose the brow color and tone you want depending on your mood and the look you’re going for. I didn’t really understand until I opened the brochure that came with the kit- inside you’ll find five different looks, each look using a different brow powder, all done on the same model. Her makeup is different, but she can pull them off- so this kit is designed for everyone to use all (or most) of the shades depending on your mood. The powders themselves feel a lot like their eyeshadows, but they’ve improved on the pigmentation for sure- a little goes a long way!

Left to right: Matte highlighter, Shimmer highlighter, Brow pencil in Medium, Brow pencil in Dark, Brow Gel in Tinted
The booklet is very well designed and the step-by-step instructions are great for guiding even the most timid beginners. It shows how to use everything in the kit as well as the different looks you can achieve with the various shades of brow powders.
My brows thank you, Sigma Beauty!

- Overall: Totally in love with this kit- I didn’t realize how much I neglected my brows until I went through all the steps! This 15-piece kit contains everything you need to shape, groom, maintain and makeup on a daily basis. It’s a little large for travelling, but some of the products are removable. The quality is incredible, and I definitely think it’s one of Sigma’s finest products.
