This Or That: Flat Iron or Curling Wand?

This one is a really easy one for me, because believe it or not, I’ve never tried a curling wand! It’s definitely on my to-buy list…I just haven’t gotten to it because my flat iron does such a great job.  Are there any in particular that you curling-wand lovers recommend? By default, I have to say a flat iron, however I think that may change based on the reviews I’ve seen for curling wands!

What about you…which do you prefer?

I really can’t say because I have never tried either! My hair is naturally straight so I don’t really need a flat iron, and I got a perm so as long as I style with mousse and dry with a diffuser it’s curly… I guess if it’s for a grand occasion I’d prefer a curling wand because I’ve seen people do amazing up-dos with it!

Flat iron! My hair is very thick and curly and its much easier for me to flat iron it than to curl it! Curling my hair takes at least 20 minutes while flat ironing takes less than 3 minutes. I do love the curling wands though and use them on a regular basis!

I’ve never tried a curling wand either. I just can’t see anything replacing my flat iron though! It gives me incredible curls in less than 5 minutes that stay all day and look amazing. I can get spiral-y curls way faster than what I’ve seen on youtube with curling wands.

Flat Iron, a Good professional one that can tam my curly/wavy and THICK hair without take hours would be a blessing. Curling my hair takes 10 minutes with a cheaper ceramic curler. The GHD and Babybliss took 2 hours by other people to get through my hair. lol

    Curling wand for sure :)

Even if I’m curly I still prefer the curly wand, because there are days that my curls aren’t defined at all and with the help of a curler wand they will instantly look better. :)

The curling wand. I have never tried a straightening iron.

OMG flat iron hands down! I have curly hair, but I have used my flat iron to create different types of curls. I had a curling wand once and for the life of my couldn’t get it to work! It might work for you though as you have really long hair. I don’t think it works if you want your curls to start higher up on your head, they are more for loose long waves in my opinion.

The thought of using a curling wand scares me…I’m so clumsy I’m afraid I’d burn my hands! They’ve always intrigued me though.

I’ve only tried with the flat iron. I do want to get a cortex 1.5″ curling wand to try out though.
