This Or That: Lipstick or Lipgloss?

This is probably one of the hardest things to ask me. I love both!  I actually didn’t even start liking lipstick until a few years ago, but lipgloss and I go way back (like… 13 years!) so for that reason, I’m going to have to go with lipgloss!  My first lipgloss ever? A BonneBelle Clear Roll-On Lipgloss that smelled like strawberries! My favorite lipgloss ever? MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass!

What about you…which do you prefer? What is your favorite?

    I prefer gloss. I like both, but I reach for lip gloss more frequently than lipstick.

    lipstick, hands down. lipgloss slides off way too easily and usually doesn’t tend to be opaque like a lot of my favorite lipsticks.

    I think I’m more of a lipstick person, just because I’ve always hated how my hair gets stuck in my lipgloss or how lipgloss is so sticky sometimes. Also, you can buy lipsticks that are so glossy and moisturizing you can’t tell that they’re lipstick. Which I love. :)

    I think im going have to go with Lipstick. As im a HUGE mattee lipstick junkie. I think you can wear a lipstick and still look like your wearing nearly no makeup, but a lipgloss is so “dressy.” and so i never wear it too school, especally with the wind. Lipgloss+Wind=bad combination + extreme hair washing.

    I usually reach for lipgloss than lipstick. I’m very picky when it comes to lipsticks.

    I have to agree with Macy! My hair and lip gloss don’t mix! Plus like you said I started my love affair with lipstick at the age of 5 playing with my mom’s make up. So i def pic lipstick!

    gloss. i dont have patience for lipstick lol it’s too high maintence which i know people would probably say about gloss but i dont mind it

    There are lipsticks with tons of shine as there are glosses with tons of pigment >_<
    Don't make me choose! :/

    Definitely lipstick-nothing like being 3 yrs old and trying on your Grandma’s lipstick.Then getting caught out!

    Lipstick. I love both but moisturizing lipstick has more staying power and doesn’t make my hair stick to my lips in the wind. :p

    I think lipgloss goes further back but nothing compares to having that perfect nude or “your lips but better” lipstick that you put on and feel like a million bucks. I’m going with lipstick.

    lipstick, totally! i just find it more natural and, most of the times, more long lasting than gloss

    In the past I would have said gloss, but now with the broad range of lipstick available, you can get color and shine that actually lasts.

    Lipgloss, because I have irregular and fine lips and I can’t stand myself with too bold lipsticks. But I like sheer lipstick too!

    OK, if I have to pick, it’s gonna be lipstick: longer wear, less bleeding, and IMHO, more versatility!

    I love the creamy texture and pigmentation of a good lipstick; I’m not a fan of goopy, sticky, sheer glosses. If I’m wearing it, I want to be able to see it! But recently I’ve fallen in love with Illamasqua’s intense lipglosses. They’re not at all sticky, when applied sparingly, and you only need a tiny tiny dot. It’s soooo pigmented, and I love the texture :)

    I like the tinted lip gloss, mostly because I have yet to find a lip stick color that I like. I like a subtle coloring to make it look nicer, but not too much (that’s what lip stick does to my lips, even if I only put a little!).
