This Or That: Multicolored or Single Shade Blush?

To me, I don’t think it really matters… When a multicoloured blush is blended together, it creates a single shade.  So while it looks pretty in the pan, it can be a little deceiving as to how it will really look on the skin. Having said that, it does look more visually appealing and interesting in the packaging, and you can also see all the different dimensions and textures.  Overall I would say that I prefer single shade blushes simply because its easier to tell them apart and how they may look on your skintone.

What about you…which do you prefer?

I like single shade as well. Sometimes the multi shade ends up looking to dark or muddy on my skin.

I only have single shade blushes… but I’m not adverse to multicoloured ones. I hear they can give a lot of dimension to a look. However, I suppose I can achieve that in a more controlled manner by using single-shade blushes.

i have never really tried multi colored blush (or even eyeshadow), but i feel the dame…when you blend it all it will end up one shade anyway. and I think it will be harder to tel (unless there’s a tester) what it will look like on you…do I think it’s single hade for me!

I agree with you, presentation can be deceiving, althout I love presentation, better to play save with a single shade

Similar thoughts… single shade because I can get a better sense of what the color is.

I only have single shade blushes at the moment, but I really do like what I read and see about the multicolored Hervana blush, so that might very well change soon!

For practicality I prefer single shades. While you can sometimes customize the colors a little more by dipping the brush into more of one section of the blush, it’s just easier to determine the blushs color when it’s blended in the one color blush.

Single, though multi-coloured ones are gorgeous in the pan.

I like the idea of multi-shade, but always have to buy singles. I just have this weird problem with using the multi, like I’m ruining art or something. It’s strange, but true.

I hardly ever use blush, but when I do it’s a single colored one, so it’s easier to see if it looks good on my skin

I’ve never tried multicolored blushes, they don’t like me so much. I prefer single shades.

Definitely single shades! Multi-colored ones just look too gimmicky for my liking, though I have read about excellent ones!

In the past I’ve only had single shade blushes, and I love them. I have however just purchased a bronze trio from Loreal that I’ve been using as a blusher and I LOVE that. The three colours blend so well together. I think I may be a mult-shade convert.
