This Or That: Waterproof Or Regular Mascara?

Reluctantly, I have to say waterproof mascara is my weapon of choice, simply because I have the most poker straight lashes that grow straight down and waterproof is the only thing that will keep them curled (I’ve tried so many and it just DOESN’T work).  I’m not a fan of this, because waterproof mascara is a pain in the butt to remove.  When I had my eyelashes permed, I loved using regular mascara….but the perms started making my lashes TOO curled, so I decided to stop.  I’m back to waterproof (specifically Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash at the moment) to make my lashes stand out!

What about you…which do you prefer?

    Waterproof, because otherwise my mascara smudges underneath my eyes. I also find that waterproof formulas tend to flake less But I completely agree with you about how much harder waterproof mascaras are to remove! I try to condition my lashes with oil after I use waterproof mascara because of this.

    DEFINITELY waterproof! I come from Taiwan which is very hot and humid, so I have never even thought about using non-waterproof mascara (it would probably melt off in 10 minutes)! You do need a bit of patience to remove it, but since I’m so used to it I’m not complaining!

    Regular for me. Waterproof is too hard to remove, and luckily regular mascara doesn’t run or smudge on me!

    i have to say regular, even though it does smudge under the eyes on me a bit. i used to wear waterproof all the time but so many of my eyelashes fell out so i stopped. it’s taken forever for them to grow back fully.

    have you ever tried blinc mascara? it’s easier to remove but you have to be careful when appkyi g because when it’s brand new it’s heavy and wil tend to weigh lashes down…

    I prefer regular mascara, waterproof it’s too hard to remove.

    I prefer waterproof, because it rains a lot out here so I’m always worried about accidental panda eyes. I have short, and very straight lashes too, but it never seems to hold any curl anyway. But I sort of just live with it, for some reason I seem to be the only woman in the universe that does not care that much about mascara. I am almost exclusively addicted to eye shadow and blushes LOL. Well, maybe I’d love mascara more if it would really make a striking difference, but my lashes are already black and 5 minutes after applying mascara they look almost the same as they did anyway or sometimes a bit worse (spider eye!) O well…

    I prefer waterproof – less smudgy, less flakey, more curl, etc. Especially since I live in a super rainy city. I just wish it wasn’t such a pain to remove!

    regular. waterproof rarely prove to be really waterproof and the only difference i find is that it takes forever and a half to take off…

    even though i love that waterproof mascara hold my curl….I’d have to go with regular.
    Its nice to have waterproof, but it dries out my lashes, and it damages them.
    We already damage them by curling them with the curler, so using waterproof can make things worse.

    Regular, because waterproof mascaras are hard to remove with makeup removers. :P

    I do prefer waterproof mascara, because it does keeps my lashes curled and in PTY’s weather, you need waterproof mascara. And it is true, is a pain to get them off, but with a oil eye makeup remover formula you should be fine, still it not that easy :p

    Waterproof. It’s a pain to remove, but a necessity for those of us who have dry eyes and wear contact lenses. I really like Maybelline’s Lash Discovery…the brush is so tiny that it doesn’t apply that much product, making it much easier to remove.
