Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection Review, Photos & Swatches

I admit, I’m pretty addicted to these adorable eyeshadow palettes from Too Faced. It started back with the Natural Eye Collection… then I fell in love with the Smoky Eye Collection… and now I think that this new Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection ($36 USD / $45 CAD) takes the cake. This palette launched along with the other Spring 2013 goodies from the brand, and if you’re a fan of neutral, smoky and sultry looks- you’re going to love this palette.

The palette comes in a small, magnetized tin that fits in the palm of my hand. While the eyeshadows are the same size as the older, cardboard sister palettes, this new packaging is much more slim and sturdy. I love it. The palette opens to reveal nine, gorgeous eyeshadows in various textures, along with a a few how-to cards to guide you with creating some new looks. The only thing I don’t like about the palette is the lack of a mirror… instead, there’s a picture of one eye (that looks a tad creepy, actually) and I think a mirror would have been much more practical.

There’s somethign about this palette that gets me super excited… it’s the perfect combination of soft neutrals, smoky greys and sultry taupes. It’s easy to wear for both daytime and night time, and you can wear it in a subtle way or smoke it out for full-on drama. Definitely my favorite palette out of them all!

Like all of the Too Faced Eye Shadow Collections, the palette is divided into three sections; Day, Classic and Fashion. You can, of course, combine the shadows from the different sections to create your own look though. I also love how the eyeshadows aren’t all the same quantity- those shades we tend to use all over the lid will run out faster than the tiny bit of dark we use in the crease or as eyeliner, so these palettes really take that into consideration and provide appropriate, relative quantities of each shade.

The pigmentation is incredible- all of the eyeshadows were super opaque and velvety to the touch. Even the mattes were nicely pigmented and had a great texture (can we just talk about how awesome that matte black with gold sparkle is!?)! They do fade a bit when worn without a primer, but I always recommend to put on a little Too Faced Shadow Insurance or your favorite eye primer underneath any eyeshadow look.

I can definitely see this palette great for a bridal look, a night out with the girls or a special date night. Great job, Too Faced!
