Lipliner has to be the one of the most underestimated makeup products out there. Many find it to be an unnecessary step, and to be honest for most days, it can be. It can also make an incredible difference in just seconds- so I think it’s important to have a few lip pencils in your beauty collection!
These Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liners ($17 USD / $22 CAD) are a brand new formulation that launched with the Fall 2012 collection! It’s available in four must-have shades, Perfect Nude, Perfect Spice, Perfect Pink and Perfect Red.
These lip liners are super creamy; they glide on like silk and remind me of the texture of a creamy eyeliner pencil! Usually, I’d be scared of such a creamy product to line my lips… thinking it will smudge and smear. Not these though, within a few seconds they set and are pretty much immovable! They almost look and feel like a tattoo because they are so resilient.

Lip liners help to even out and define the lip line, create the appearance of fuller lips and help your lip color last longer. They are also great for evening out asymmetrical lips like mine (my lips are not mirror images on each side, so lip liner helps to create the illusion that they are). I love how I can have total confidence in these lipliners, knowing they will stay on all day!
They stay on so well in fact, they are pretty hard to remove. I recommend massaging a cleansing oil onto your lips to remove them without scrubbing away at your delicate lips. They do feel a bit dry throughout the day, but it really is the price you have to pay for such long wear. If you were to only get one shade, pick Perfect Nude (if you have a lighter skin tone) or Perfect Spice (if you have a deeper skin tone)- you’ll be amazed at how much better your lips can look!
To use them, I like to line my lips along the natural lip line (I will go over just a tiny bit if I want a fuller appearance). If I’m wearing a similar lip color on top, I’ll fill my entire lip in with the lipliner. If I’m just going for a sheer gloss or light color, I’ll blend the lip liner in with a finger (only on the inside of the lips, not the outer edge).
Summary
- Price: $17 USD / $22 CAD for 0.01oz / 4g
- Availability: Sephora
- Selection: Available in four shades, all shown here
- Overall: These lip colors are awesome! They glide on like butter, with no tugging! They are richly pigmented and blend easily… but once they set, they are as budge proof as a tattoo! They can be a bit drying throughout the day, but it’s worth the long wear.
