Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue

A recent addition to Too Faced’s lineup of famous Shadow Insurance eye primers is this formula meant for bonding glitter! The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue ($18 USD / $24 CAD) comes in a similar squeeze tube to the other Shadow Insurance formulas, except this one features a black tube with sparkle detailing.

The colorless primer looks and feels very similar to any other eyeshadow primer, however this one leaves more of a tacky feeling (that takes longer to set as well, so you have a little more play time).  I definitely wouldn’t recommend using it for regular eyeshadow, as the sticky texture would cause it to look patchy- however if you like wearing glitter (or even pigments), then you’ve got to get your hands on this! It works wonders for glitter!

If you’ve ever applied glitter using a regular eye primer, this will change your world. There’s hardly any fall-out and it really keeps it on for hours!  You can apply it to a bare eyelid and pat the glitter on top, or you can apply a light layer on top of your finished eyeshadow if you want to have a colored base.

I recommend  applying it with a synthetic brush and cleaning the brush right after you’re finished applying the glitter.  To remove, go with an oil-based makeup remover or cleansing oil to effortlessly remove the glitter (you definitely don’t want to be rubbing off coarse glitter)!

Summary

  • Price: $18 USD / $24 CAD for 0.35oz / 11g
  • Availability: Sephora
  • Overall: A must-have for glitter lovers! It really makes an incredible difference when compared to regular eye primers- the glitter holds on better and it is much easier to apply with much less fall out.  It also works great for loose pigments, but I wouldn’t recommend it for pressed shadows.  Also- make sure to clean your brush right after!
