Top Pick: BB Cream

Despite all the crazy hype about BB Creams, I still get questions all the time asking “what is a BB cream!?“… it seems as if it’s this magical product that just appeared on every brand’s shelf overnight! The truth is, BB Creams (“Blemish Balm” or “Beauty Balm”) have been around for a while!  BB Creams have been massively popular in Asia for years now, and they are just starting to come over to North America (well, they’re pretty much here now).  I’ve tried traditional BB Creams, and they are usually a lot thicker and more pigmented then the ones I’ve been seeing in North America (I really feel like our BB Creams are just tinted moisturizers with a “BB” label slapped onto them).

However, that changed when I met the Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF 35 ($42 USD).  With a much thicker texture, more pigmented coverage and higher SPF than I’ve seen from every other BB Cream I’ve tried, this complexion-perfecting multi-tasker is great for moisturizing skin, evening out skin tone and concealing minor imperfections, diffusing pores and fine lines, reducing redness and protecting skin from the sun! It’s really the closest thing I’ve found to a tradition BB Cream (I liked Skin79 the best).  You only have to use a tiny bit, and I find it easiest to apply with my fingers!  It’s perfect for low-key days, weekends or even as a base before powder foundation (now that gives a flawless look)! Yes, it is more expensive than drugstore versions, but this tube will definitely last a long time because such a small amount is needed (about a pea-size, compared to a nickel-sized dollop I’d use of the cheaper stuff)!
