Top Pick: Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Even though it hasn’t been out for very long, the Urban Decay Naked Basics ($27 USD / $32 CAD) has quickly staked it’s spot in my makeup bag as my must-have matte eyeshadow palette. I love those 6-shade palette because it really has all the neutral mattes I could need, and it works amazing all on its own or as a complement to whatever eyeshadow palette you’re already using.

I reach for this palette daily, using Foxy on the lid and Faint in the crease for a simple, contoured matte eye. Or, I’ll use Walk Of Shame as a brow highlight if I’m going for a shimmery eye look to balance it out. I also love using Crave as an eyeliner, because even though its jet black- it looks so soft and makes me look like I have lush, feathery lashes!

I love this palette. Affordable, small, and practical.

Honestly I dont have this palette but I have several matte palettes which I think could definitely supass this one in terms of colurs etc. I have the Meet Matte asn ust got the Meet Matte Nude by The Balm. They have some of the best quality shadow I have come across. I also have the Stila matte palette In the Know. I will say that the new Balm palette has a white but there are very few whiteish mattes in the palettes I mentioned and I hope I will be able to purchase some as individuals as they make a great base for some looks with colour. As a woman with some age around the eye it seems that using a matte white with the metamorphix from Lise Watier is great prior to a colourful eye look, it takes the crepiness down a lot. I just discovered this so will have to see, I am excited and hope it does work. Are you aware of any products of matte shadows that have a white, good quality?
