Velour Lashes Review & Photos

Published On February 15, 2012 | Reviews

Despite only wearing them on special occasions, I absolutely love false lashes.  I love the way they can totally change your look, however I always stuck to cheap drugstore brands because I could never bring myself to pay for high end ones like MAC or Shu Uemura… so why am I now swooning over Velour Lashes? Let’s check them out!

The Packaging

Not only are the lashes themselves total luxury, but each pair of lashes comes packaged perfectly in its own little case, with a cardboard sleeve over top.  Each pair is stuck to a plastic insert which helps to keep the lashes perfectly shaped.  There’s even a little ribbon to help remove the insert!  I love the fact each pair of lashes has its own little home- it makes it easier to store them and keep them in great shape in between uses. My only gripe with the packaging is that the label of the lashes is on the sleeve, and not the actual box.  I really have no need for the sleeve since the box itself is perfectly fine, but I have to keep them because I want to remember which lashes are which (…and heaven forbid you mix up the sleeves)!

The Lashes

Velour Lashes are the Cadillacs of false lashes. They are made with 100% mink fur (cruelty-free, of course) and they look and feel exactly like real lashes…it’s almost creepy.  They are incredibly soft to the touch, a gorgeous natural black and come in a variety of different shapes and styles with varying thickness, length and shape.  Here are their top five best selling lashes!

You Complete Me ($29.99 CDN)

These are the most undetectable and wearable out of the five I’m showing you here. They are thinner and shorter at the inner corner and longer and thicker at the outer corner, giving you the ultimate cat-eye look without being too dramatic!

These aren’t your average lashes. Looking at the prices, you can tell they are super luxurious- but don’t fear, with proper care these lashes can be used up to 25 times! So really, that’s less than $2 per wear, less than what you’ll pay for a one-time-use-only pair of drugstore lashes.

How do you make sure your lashes last a long time? Finish your makeup, curl your lashes and apply your mascara (letting it dry completely) before applying your Velour Lashes. They should be the last part of your eye makeup, and gently remove them by running a bit of makeup remover along the lash line with a Q-Tip. Peel off any excess glue and place them back in their case until the next use!

Want to see what they look like on? Stay tuned over the next few weeks as our Spring 2012 Look Book will be filled with models wearing these Velour Lashes!
