Right now, my skin is in the best condition of my life… however it wasn’t always that way- I suffered from acne in teens all the way through to my early twenties.  Even though my complexion is smooth and clear (for the most part) now, I was still left with quite a bit of post-acne marks, scars and discolouration.  Years of gentle exfoliation and patience is required to see these marks disappear, but it’s going much more quickly now that I added the Vichy ProEVEN Daily Dark Spot Corrector ($44 CDN) to my routine.

The Packaging

The product comes in a sleek, long tube, which to me resembles some prescription creams (or Benefit You Rebel, too) where it keeps its shape when squeezed… like a pliable metal casing. I love the fact it is in a tube… probably my favorite type of packaging, especially for skincare. You can dispense as much product as you want in the most sanitary way possible.  You may notice that mine has a sticker on it where the label goes- mine was a press sample so the actual packaging does not have the sticker, but the same writing is on the tube!

The Product

This product is designed to even out skin tone, and it works on age spots, dark spots, sun spots, post-acne marks and general uneven skin tone or dull complexions. I love the versatility of this product, since it’s a daily dark spot corrector, it helps to fight all sorts of pigmentation issues for a brighter, clearer complexion.  Like I said, my skin is in the best condition of my life right now…but the only thing standing between myself and not wearing any foundation (besides my irrational love for makeup), is my uneven skin tone due to acne scars.

I’ve been using it twice a day in my regular regimen and I haven’t noticed any bad reactions to it at all. Like with most Vichy products, it is scented but thank goodness this one has a very mild scent, because it’s totally tolerable for me.  It’s suitable for all skin tones, ages and sensitivities.  It’s quite hydrating on its own, so oily skin may be able to skip their moisturizer but my dry skin feels more comfortable when I use this in combination with my moisturizer.

After about a week and a half, I noticed my complexion looking more bright and even… the marks are still there, but they are a little less visible which is really encouraging! I’m definitely going to continue with this in my skincare routine.
