Weekly Challenge: Use Only One Product for Eyes, Lips and Cheeks

Published On January 4, 2012 | Weekly Challenge

This week we’re going to pretend we’re heading off to a desert island (why? I have no clue…but just play along).  You’re allowed your basic complexion products, but when it comes to eyeshadow, blush and lip color….you can only take one product for them all. Which do you choose? How do you use it? Show us your look!

Every month we will choose one random Weekly Challenge participant to win a special prize! Do the challenge (either on yourself or a friend), snap a photo (minimum 650px wide) and share it with us! All submissions must be received by the following Tuesday at noon EST to be eligible. Have fun and good luck!

Last week, we asked you to Show Us Your New Years Eve Look and here’s what you submitted:

  • What She Did: ” I used the darker side of the L’Oreal metallic duo in 806 Gilded all over my lids and blended the edges out before patting the lighter color to the center of my lids. I highlighted the inner corners with Half Baked from the Naked Palette and my brow bones with the lightest shade of the NYX Rock and Roll trio. I lined my upper water line and lash line with my Maybelline gel liner and patted Creep from the Naked Palette over it. For my lower lash line, I used Urban Decay Bourbon and the darker side of the duo to smudge it out. I had Tarte Peaceful on my cheeks, a bit of Bobbi Brown Bali Brown just to add some dimension, and Bobbi Brown Nougat on my lips.”

Oh I wished I had these on hand but MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream in 5 Peach or 9 Coral really fits the bill for a product and just one shade that is multi-wear. Unfortunately I don’t have these yet but it gives me an ideas. ;)

also the shades, 6 Fresh Pink, 13 Warm Beige, and 7 Fuchsia could be worked into a monochrome look for something natural.

Lovely looks! I really like the challenge too, I often do a blush only look. I actually tried to make a picture of my NYE look, but unfortunately I only have a very dingy camera and with the lack of light here it just seems impossible to snap a picture that doesn’t completely embarrass me. Well, I blame the camera, my sweets lack of photography skills and the bad light that demanded flashes that made all the color disappear, but the ugly truth is that I have gotten to that age where candlelight is just an essential for self esteem, haha, the truth is too confronting… I’ll probably need a few years to get used to me being no spring chicken anymore!
