Youngblood Incredible Wear Gel Liners

It’s no secret that I’m head over heels for Youngblood (I’ve been wearing their mineral foundation everyday since the weather started getting super hot because it stays put and has amazing coverage)… and I’m sure you also know that I absolutely love gel eyeliner (I wasn’t blessed with the liquid liner skill).  So I was totally excited to try out the Youngblood Incredible Wear Gel Liners ($21 USD each).

These gel liners are super pigmented and ultra creamy, so they glide on smoothly with the look of a liquid eyeliner but with the precise application of a brush. My brush of choice is the Bdellium Tools 760, because I find it has a unique, small angled tip.  These eyeliners are very similar to the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners, but I find them to be a little bit more creamy- which is both a blessing and a curse.  Their creaminess allows them to glide on easily, and you have more time to play with them before they set and stay put for good- but sometimes I found them to be too creamy, and I wasn’t able to achieve that super sharp, precise cat-eye that I love to create.  They are easier to work with but harder to sculpt into the shape you want.

Five shades are available, and they are all richly pigmented and look gorgeous on!  Three are matte (I do love how they dry to a very matte finish… I’m not a fan of glossy eyeliners) and two are shimmery.  Only Galaxy and Espresso are vegan. They are:

  • Eclipse: Blackest black
  • Galaxy: Deep grey with silver shimmer
  • Espresso: Dark brown
  • Midnight Sea: Deep cobalt blue
  • Black Orchid: Deep purple with iridescent sheen

These eyeliners are incredibly long-wearing… they don’t fade, budge, flake or melt away throughout the day (tested in 28ºC weather, might I add) so they definitely get a seal of approval for all-day wear.  My favorite shades are Eclipse (because everyone needs a good black gel liner) and Black Orchid!  Would I choose them over my beloved Bobbi Brown ones?  I’d love to say so, but I just find I can get a sharper, more precise cat-eye with Bobbi… so I’m going to have to stick with her. These do come incredibly close though!

Summary

  • Price: $21 USD for 0.1oz / 3g
  • Availability: Youngblood
  • Overall: Super pigmented, really creamy and wears all day with no budging! A great formula in five gorgeous colors… but I found them to be almost too creamy when trying to be precise. Gives more playtime before it sets, but can be a bit harder to sculpt a cat-eye shape. Very close to Bobbi Brown in my books!
  • Rating: A
