Spring is right around the corner, so the jackets are going to be coming off and the pants are going to be cropping shorter and shorter (plus, after watching the Oscars- I’ve been swooning over all the gorgeous celeb’s glowing skin- especially Angelina’s right leg, haha)! This Youngblood Mineral Illuminating Tint for Body ($37 USD) is going to be my BFF for dress and skirt weather!
The Packaging
Youngblood packaging is absolutely gorgeous- chic black boxes and packaging with simplistic details. This product comes in a pump-top bottle, which helps for mess-free dispensing. A full pump gives a generous amount of product, probably enough to cover one leg. There’s also a lock on the pump mechanism which makes it great if you want to travel with it!
The Product
This lotion is a shimmery bronze shade meant to illuminate the skin and give it a subtle sun kissed glow. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel greasy at all, which is really nice. The tint came off a tad warm (a nice way of saying orange) when I swatched it, but blended over a large area of skin it looks quite beautiful and natural. I would probably only wear this out in the evening though, just for fear of looking orange. It illuminates the skin beautifully, creating a gorgeous pearlescent glow à la JLo. It’s hydrating, to not only make your skin look beautiful but to actually fortify it and nourish it.
I liked how well it stayed on- it didn’t transfer, but I would still be weary of wearing it with anything white. It’s also sheer enough to wear it on its own, but if you really just want the most subtle touch of color and shimmer, you can mix it with a regular moisturizer (my favorite way to do it- plus it lasts longer that way)! Sort of like nylons in a tube…without the snags :)
Summary
- Price: $37 USD for 5.9oz
- Availability: Youngblood
- Overall: A silky smooth illuminating lotion with a hint of bronzy color. I prefer to mix it with moisturizer and go even more subtle, because it can look a tad on the warm side. Makes my skin glow so beautifully!
