The Yves Saint Laurent Arty Stone Collection for Spring 2013 includes three Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Sheer Candy Glossy Balms ($30 USD / $38 CAD) shades, a pink, a mocha and a mint green shade (which is exclusive to Selfridges and unfortunately not available in North America). The entire collection is a palette of jewel-toned crystalline colors and will be available this month at Yves Saint Laurent counters (but a few of the items are already available online here).
I have the shade in No.12 Tasty Raspberry, a light, sheer pink with a soft shimmer. The packaging is absolutely incredible- I’ve said many times that YSL does the most elegant, luxurious packaging… but especially with the Volupté Sheer Candy Glossy Balms; I just love the reflective tube with the gorgeous gold YSL logo revealing the shade underneath. The packaging is very similar to the famous Rouge Volupté Lipsticks, however this one has a silver tube instead of gold.
I’ve reviewed the formula a long time ago, but my feelings have remained the same towards this product. I absolutely love them. I know that they have gotten mixed reviews in the past… however I’m a true believer in them. The gorgeous, glossy finish they have with a sheer tint of color (the deeper shades definitely have more pigmentation to them), the delicious mango scent, the silky smooth feeling on the lips- I adore these balms.
I find them to be quite moisturizing, and I don’t feel that my lips become dry after wearing them. They don’t last very long on the lips, but they are a pleasure to reapply, and feel incredibly comfortable. The hint of shimmer in this shade also adds a nice, subtle sparkle to the lips that anyone can wear. I love these balms for spring and summer… and if anyone finds the Frosted Mint shade from Selfridges… let me know, I totally want to get my hands on it!
