The Yves Saint Laurent Summer 2013 Collection features two Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre Lipsticks ($34 USD / $39 CAD), including this golden rose shade in Nº 114 Rose de Saba. This collection takes inspiration from the subtle palette of warm tones and contrasting waves of twilight seen during sunset. A variation on torrid, golden hues and cool touches of violet, coral, fuchsia and green, this breathtaking collection will be available in May 2013 (but you can already check it out online).
The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre formula has the same packaging as the original Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in a stunning golden tube with a YSL motif engraved in the lipstick bullet itself. The formula features a golden shimmer infused into the lipstick, which gives it a very pearly finish without a gritty texture. It has a light, floral scent and a buttery, creamy texture, but it did leave a slightly off taste in my mouth (I know that sounds odd- I promise I wasn’t eating it).
The lipstick has medium pigmentation, however it can be built in layers to a full coverage finish. It is very comfortable to wear and lasted about 4-5 hours on me which is quite good for such a hydrating lipstick. My lips felt smooth and the soft rose really enhanced my lip color while the shimmer added a nice texture, especially for summer. A lovely lipstick with a summery touch!
